Part-time Design Assistant Position

This position would be starting at a part-time freelance capacity (roughly 10-15 hours/week to start), with opportunity to come onto payroll and for more hours. While it’s listed as a part-time design assistant position, designers / decorators would also also be encouraged to apply if interested in part-time work that could eventually lead to a full-time role. Compensation reflective of experience.

Fit is important, and tasks would be tailored based on the person. Examples of tasks that this position could expect to include are:

  • ordering and picking up samples and purchases

  • communications with suppliers

  • product sourcing (online and in-person)

  • creating client-facing documents

  • writing internal and marketing materials

  • photography, graphic design, and social media experience considered an asset

  • collaboration on floor plans (depending on experience)

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are required for this position, as well as the ability to adapt to changing priorities. This role also requires access to a vehicle and the ability to drive/deliver items around the HRM. A sense of humour, interest in interiors, and a strong sense of personal style are big pluses.
