Lawrencetown Surf Co. opened with a soft launch July 2020. The shop celebrates handcrafted products by some of the world’s finest surfers and is a place for friends and customers to stop in hang out, just minutes from the beach. More work was completed on the shop since these photos were taken — check back soon for updated photos to come.

The following photos are from my phone, most of them right before opening. The space was designed to be laid back and casual, and it’s been so nice watching both the exterior and interior gradually adopt a more lived-in and comfortable feel as time passes.
“I think I had a preconceived notion that working with a designer was for people like my Great Aunt Toni. When we opened a surf shop in our mid thirties we thought we’d give one a shot because we didn’t understand retail lighting, displays or that shoppers usually move counter clockwise through a store. Who knew?
We had so much fun and were so impressed that we hired Maia again a few years later for our dream home.”
